Title: NarcAnon Vista Bay
Description: Any info?
ConcernedWife - March 6, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)
My husband was admitted to NarcAnon Vista BAy in January and I don't know anything about it other than what's stated on their website. My husband had their family liason call me after he got out of detox to tell me that he was doing great and that I could call anytime day or night if I had any questions. The next thing I know, I am getting a call from my mother in law telling me that the centre phoned her and told her that he/they could no longer contact me since I am not an "authorized person". Well my husband called me today after 2 months of no contact and told me he has been released and is coming home tomorrow. (We live in CAnada) He also told me that he has spoken to a lawyer and wants to sue the centre for various reasons but didn't want to get into detail until he gets home. He said something about them pumping him full of some drug that was supposed ti get rid of all the toxins from his drug of choice. After speaking with the lawyer, this is proven to be more than 400 times the legal dosage. HE said something about it being like a cult or something. I'm so confused and concerned. HE sounds very strange. Not himself at all. Anybody have any info on this place? I had never heard of it before his family had this intervention for him. (I wasn't there) His family was told by this intervention guy that 90% of the time, the drug problems are due to or in conjunction with their spouse so his family blames me that's why I was not included. After he left, I was accused of all sorts of things by this guy whom I've never even met. His family seems to be falling for this crap and we no longer have any contact since the intervention. Any info would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you!

Forgot to add that while he was there he said because of feeling so woozy and sick, he slipped and fell twice, both resulting in stitches on his head and was hit by a car by one of the staff in the parking lot. He was hurt quite badly. His head went through her windshiled. He is suing the centre. This just all sounds so out there to me...

Yes... this seems to be a problem for many people... becoming ill from the niacin "treatments?" and extensive sauna exposure. Many who have been asked about this practice, that aren't affiliated with the Church of Scientology, have indicated that it is potentially harmful and can have serious health consequences.
I hope the best for you and for your loved one. Please consider getting connected with other women in your community that can act as a source of support in your life/recovery.

Dear Concerned Wife:
To get up to speed on what your husband is trying to tell you, check out
http://www.vincedaniels.com/Vince Daniels has a show that you can listen to on Saturdays, 10 am to 1pm pacific time over the internet. Also, he archives the shows or you can check them out on YouTube (just search for Scientology or Vince Daniels).
I found the information to be very helpful and may give you some ideas on how to best support your traumatized husband. Also consider having his head injuries evaluated, therapy is critical if indeed he has suffered some type of head injury. Rehab is valuable for at least two years after the injury but the sooner the better. Also, if you are going to seek legal action you will need good evaluations to assist with the damages part. But the main thing is to get your husband taken care of physically. Do not underestimate the importance of a good neuro evaluation, start with your personal physician if you do not have other resources. Good luck and stay in touch.
I agree with Mr. Mac, please take care of yourself and get some support. Take care.

Thank you both for your replies. I am still so shocked and confused by all this but I am coming across more and more online. WorriedMom, I checked out your link, but I couldn't find anything other than a letter from parents who couldn't get a refund from the treatment centre. IS there something I'm missing? Thanks...

I think she is implying that you can stream the radio show through the internet. Just click on the large 1050AM and it will stream live. I am going to have to listen to this show sometime. Does he spend a lot of time exposing Narconon.?

Mr. Mac,
I feel that Vince Daniels pours a lot of passion into these specific shows regarding Narconon. The first show that I personally seen was the one with Mr. Greg Beha, as well as the president of Narconon International on the line. I must say that it was very relieving to see a sole individual representing many voices so with such a concrete heart. Vince contradicted the hell out of Clark (I believe that was the N. presidents name); it was amusing and fufilling to hear his voice squirm. Vince is definitely a soilder, when it comes to Narconon and Scientology. I would recommend seeing them as soon as possible. I certainly enjoyed them, hopefully you will, too.

Mr Mac and Concerned Mom, to hear the archived shows just click "on demand podcast." (direct link:
http://yardtv.gotdns.com/kcaa-podcasts/vince/ )Start at show #80, Sep 16, then #86, 87, 98, 99 and 102. If you have some time, at least skim through the other episodes after #80, because the subject tends to come up from time to time as Clark Carr's and Per Wickstrom's outrageous conduct warrants updates and announcements.

Drug and alcohol addiction is not caused by family, spouses or anyone. Not even the addict!
There is more and more evidence that it is genetic and should be treated as a disease. Many families feel guilty about the addict because they feel it was something they did or didn't do. That is absolutely false. They (his parents) are probably more than happy to shift the blame to you, but again, that is absolutely false.
The people around addicts can be enablers and the addict has learned how to manipulate people close to them in order to have excuses to use or drink.
There are also some good books available for the families of alcoholics/Addicts.
