i thought narconon would be a good place but i am finding out it isn't so good. Can anyone give other suggestions?

I would highly recommend doing some research on different drug and alcohol treatment centers in your area. If funding isn't a problem (which it typically is) or you are insured, I would highly recommend Hazelden in Minnesota, La Hacienda in Texas, also look into the Pheonix House and the Caron Foundation. These are just some of the larger, more recognized treatment centers that offer safe and comforable medical detox programs as well as inpatient and extended care treatment options. They are "twelve step model" programs but they also have some of the top most recognized addiction professionals and counselors to get down to the root causes.

If you are interested in some of the best aftercare around... you might consider checking out markhoustonrecovery.com

But be ready to have your entire life change as a result. I understand that funding can typically limit someone as to where they end up. That's okay and remember that local support groups are everywhere... even in your community. Don't hesitate to be in contact with these people. They will be able to guide you in the right direction.

If you tell me what state you are in... I will provide you with a list of resources near you.

Don't forget, Mac.
Narconon costs as much or more than legitimate rehab facilities.

Your money would be better invested in a place with medical care, good facilities, and no Scientology courses in lieu of real treatment.

Absolutely. Narconon is not cheap by any means. I'm still wondering where all of the dollars go???? Certainly they are not compensating their "staff" very well. But I do remember that the "President" of Arrowhead was driving a new BMW...
