All,
It is vitally important that we call a halt to the proposed "detoxification" of military veterans. From this website from the "Florida Citizens for Social Reform," it is painfully Clear that Scientology intends to flog the discredited 'New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project' to the military. The last thing veterans need is to be poisoned with overdoses of vitamins and indoctrinated into Scientology.
As Feisty discovered, an event was held in Clearwater to promote the launch of this new attempt to collect public funding for the same bogus "treatment" packaged and sold under Narconon, Second Chance, Criminon and other front groups.
http://www.floridacsr.org/FCSR claims to address the usual social buttons; illiteracy, drug abuse, moral decay and crime. FCSR claims to sponsor legislative workshops, featuring FCSR lobbyist Gregg Mitchell.
http://www.floridacsr.org/workshops.htmlIt is through front groups like these that Scientology gains access to legislators, when they're not infiltrating legitimate groups like the National Foundation of Women Legislators, some of whom have promoted Scientology programs in their home states. Recently, a $3.5 million dollar funding proposal was voted down in New Mexico. I like to think some of our letters and websites had some impact on that vote.
If there is any doubt as to the connection between Scientology and FCSR, have a look at the following:
Some of the programs we support are:
• The Way to Happiness
• Criminon
• Narconon
• Future Home Builders of America
• Applied Scholastics
• Boys and Girls Club
• Cherish the Children
A tidy mix of legitimate and cult-operated groups, to say the least!
Last September, FCSR launched a proposal to treat veterans with the Purification Rundown. Supported by Dr. David Root and NYFD Joe Higgins, who spoke out in support of the NY Rescue Workers Detoxification Project, a cursory look at this proposal might seem legitimate to legislators too busy to do any in-depth research on the matter.
This is how they always sneak in, through the back door.
They won't mention that their program has been repeatedly debunked.
They won't mention that the NYRWDP was debunked.
They won't mention that Scientology programs are involved.
However, Mary Repper is a well known Scientologist. In fact, the quarterly briefing was held at the home of well-known OT fire fighter Bryan Zwan.
Keep your eyes open for anything relating to treating veterans with Scientology mumbo jumbo. The more eyes, the better!
