Description: knowledge report on staff member

This is a knowledge report (KR) written up by a concerned co-worker on a staff member at Narconon Stone Hawk:

On several occasions Lindsay N. has come to me stating that she wants to get high. I had always taken it that Lindsay just needed someone to talk to instead of using. I had given her positive re-enforcement(sic) to not use.
But on 1/16/07 she approached me and said that she wanted to get high and that she thought her urges were a result of her working in W/D and all the talk of drugs. She also asked about medications that I had prescribed for my leg condition. I told her that I couldn't take one of the meds (Darvocet) because I would not be allowed to work. She said that if I wanted to get the prescription filled that she would pay for it and I could give the script to her. We had been talking about the student XXXX and the proximity of the dealer to my home and she wanted to know if they had heroin. She then asked me if I would get mad if she got high one time. I gave no response because I had stated repeatedly that she doesn't need to do that and that her life is better without drugs. I refused to give her any type of drugs or medications. This has been a problem that has caused me loss of sleep due to all of the worrying. I just want to help and not hurt anyone.

There are several other finds put up by Dr. Dave at http://stop-narconon.org

This really underscores why legitimate rehab programs don't use junkies fresh out of the bin! The urge to use and backslide is very strong, and being exposed to drug stories and references can be too much for the newly recovered.

Also note that the writer couldn't take medication for her leg because of Narconon policy. (which is Scientology policy too, oddly enough.) There's got to be something illegal about denying an employee medication!
